60-year-old Berfé and her young granddaughter Jiyan are troubled when Temo–Berfé’s son and Jiyan’s father– is arrested along with the men of the village, and taken into custody by the gendarmerie on grounds that they are in possession of arms. It is announced that they will be kept arrested until the guns are handed over by their families. But the problem is that there are no guns, at least to the knowledge of Berfé and Jiyan. In desperation, they will have to embark on a long journey in search of a gun which they could exchange for their beloved Temo.
